1983 toyota starlet3/16/2023 Unfortunetly there was a miscommunication, I didn't think he wanted the Celica GTS seats but he did, so I sold the car to them with stock seats for the advertised price of $3600 but I told them I'll be delivering the seats to his sister's house before they ship the car out for the extra $300 we agreed to. I was a little leary at first since he was from out of town and I definately didn't want to deal with scammers and their 'shipping agents' or any kind of cashiers check or what not.so his sister and her boyfriend brought me $3900 cash! He wired his sister the $$$ and she picked it up for him. New buyer will be enjoying this on the streets of New York state (not city though). MAINTENANCE WITHIN 600 MILES ANDOR 6 MONTHSĮngine Bay While Car Is Running Walk Around: They’re both not a big deal but again I want to make sure to point every little thing out. If I had to nit pick (and I like to be upfront about any flaws it may have so it not be used as a negotiating point later) I would say the only bad thing about this car is that the two interior flip down visor shades are complete but 25+ years of sun on them has caused the vinyl covering to crack. MacPherson strut front suspension with plastic-lined front fenders to prevent rust Thule roof rack with 2 bike racks not included in price but can be included or extra $$ 2002 Celica GTS seats in super condition not included in price but can be included for extra $$$ All climate control functions work great (heater blows hot, fan blows cool air…no AC) All locks, windows, hatch, hood mechanisms work perfectly. Stock seats as well which are still in great shape 14 Supra Wheels with new tires (can be replaced with 13" wheels to reduce price a bit) Decent overall body (minor minor dings but in great condition for a 25+ year old car) Idles nice (No fluctuating of any kind) Stock 4 cylinder 1.3 liter engine (Toyota engines are bullet proof!) It’s fuel injected so it will not give you any carburetor issues ever! Carfax report available for you to review Smog certificate recently done (some sellers sell their cars as-is and leave it up to you to smog…I wonder why, maybe because they know it won’t pass the test and it will be expensive to repair?) Oh plus getting lighter wheels could have helped as it has some Supra wheels on it at the time that are meant for a sports car not a fuel savings little commuter car like this is. I can see this getting a lot closer to its originally EPA rating if I was on the open road without all the weight. In another all city gas tank I averaged 30 miles per gallon. The last long road trip it had was over 400 mile and even being stuck in stop and go traffic for nearly 2 hours, and getting diverted on a 16 mile uuphillu climb all while carrying a set of heavy wheels in the back I still managed to get a real world 40 miles per gallon. I have driven this little car up and down the state and haven’t had any problems with it. I believe you will not find a cleaner and well maintained Starlet than this one in the bay area or anywhere else for that matter.ġ983 Toyota Starlet EPA rated at 42 mpg city & 54mpg highway Its original owner bought it from the dealership and it was maintained by a Toyota mechanic, he ended up buying it and kept it for years. It’s always been adult owned and maintained. This is one uvery clean stock and unmolestedu car. This 1983 model was revamped from the previous generation to give it a more aerodynamic front end to actually increase miles per gallon by 10% over the previous year’s model already high EPA ratings. Its last model year in the US was in 1984, which is when Toyota switched over completely to front wheel drive cars. The Starlet earned an EPA estimated city mileage rating of 42 mpg and an estimated highway mileage rating of 54 mpg. The new 4-speed manual transmission was standard and provided improved torque and acceleration in second and third gears. In 1983, the American version of the Starlet increased its already high EPA city mileage ratings by more than 10 percent thanks to a restyled aerodynamic front end, fuel injection, and a new 4-speed transmission its hatch was also lowered for easier cargo loading. This often overlooked Toyota was only imported to the US from 1981 to 1984 but it was sold worldwide from 1973 all the way until 1999. If you’re looking for a great running, reliable commuter that can seat up to 4, and save a lot of money on the ever rising gas prices all in one then you’ve found it. 115K miles (That’s about 4,500 miles a year!) 40+ MPG (Why get a $20K hybrid to achieve similar mileage?)
